About Eat Broome

A local's guide to eating and drinking in Broome, Western Australia.

What this is

Eat Broome is an independent guide to every restaurant, cafe, bar, food truck, bakery and takeaway in town — free to use, free to list, no sponsored placements.

If you've got something open in Broome and it serves food or drinks, you belong on here. Whether it's Matso's brewery or a Saturday-morning brisket pop-up at Town Beach, it's welcome.

How it works

• Reviews: Anyone can review a venue after signing in (no password — magic link only).
• Ratings: We use a Bayesian weighted average so places with a couple of glowing reviews don't leapfrog venues with hundreds.
• Photos: Signed-in users can upload photos of dishes, the room, or themselves enjoying a meal.
• Claim your venue: If you own a place, claim it to add your menu, update hours and respond to reviews.

Why we built it

Broome already has Google Maps, TripAdvisor, Facebook. None of them are made for Broome. They lump a pearl-farm lunch alongside a servo meat pie. They don't know that when the tide's out at Town Beach, a dozen food trucks appear. They show "closed" for places open during The Wet.
